"...After listening to a tape containing songs that will be on The Blue Star Boys album, I can see that I have an easy job. Just tell it like it is! It is an album that has a variety of sound and tempo that attests to this band's ability to hold a listening audience. The music is spirited and the skills of the bandmembers, considerable, indeed, are easily apparent.
I heard imaginative arranging in these songs that I haven't heard in a lot of rockabilly. Maybe none.
The Blue Star Boys have a knack of combining "hillbilly" sound and "rocking" sound in a single composition, and this is evidence of their imaginative approach to music and of their ability to extend the boundary of a particular type of music.
These guys put a lot into their music, and they have a lot to put.
